Hi BP Team,

It came to our surprise after running our first process in Next Gen that there is no actual reporting functionality and/or ability to export data in some form of structured data.

For example if I wanted a report using a data range of certain sessions run. Or if I wanted to export all of the queue items in order to see a holistic view of what was completed vs marked as an exception etc. How  would one achieve that today?

Thank you,

Thank you @shenryifds

I understand and have set the status to Reviewed, so that you and other members of the community can vote and comment on this request.

We are working on providing access to the operational data via APIs, so that it can be piped to your Enterprise IT tool of choice. Would this be a suitable solution for you?

Specifically for exporting all queue items, this is possible through the standard Work Queue actions.  We have created a sample RPA process to demonstrate this, which we will publish on the digital exchange when ready.

PS: You can up vote your own ideas.

Hi Chris,

Yes I would say that if accessing data via API's is an option and our only option then we will go ahead with that.

For the exporting of all queue items, yes if you could show me that would be great. We currently have SS&C professional services on site as we launch our first automation but  when asking them my understanding was that this wasn't possible.

When reviewing queue items in Control Center I don't see where I could do that. If you can show me that would be great!

Thank you,

Hi @shenryifds

Re: When reviewing queue items in Control Center I don't see where I could do that. If you can show me that would be great!

  • I’ll clarify what I meant with “Specifically for exporting all queue items, this is possible through the standard Work Queue actions.”
  • I meant with the standard Work Queue business object actions that are available within Design Studio when developing an RPA Process.  Using this, we’ve generated a sample RPA Process to extract the Work Queue item data, which can then be moved to your tool of choice and ran periodically on a schedule if wanted.
  • This sample RPA process is not generally available yet, it will be soon.  I’ve reached out to one of my Professional Services colleagues, he’s got early access to the sample RPA process to export Queue items and will review this for you.

Hi Chris,

Ah ok I see what you're saying now Chris.

That makes sense and yes Chris Potvin who we've been working closely with just messages me and said he'd help us with this next week.

Thanks again Chris for the timely responses today.
