Hi Sam,
One example of such a situation is this thread page itself. If you try to click on the attached image of your post and try to spy the close icon as you can see I am trying to do below:
Now in case you have this popup opened up and try to click on this close icon from your workflow it will work as shown below:
Now with the popup if you try to again perform this workflow you will observe still it is working and even if you would try to highlight the element you may not see the element being highlighted but still Blue Prism would never throw an error. Now your question might be why does this happen. The answer is because the source code of the web page never changes and it is just that when you click on that close icon a JavaScript is running which makes the entire popup window disappear but without changing the source code of the website.
This type of elements are called as invisible elements which may not appear visually to you but they always exist in the backend.
