How does multiple Document Types in a single Batch Type work with Decipher?

Hello team,

I wanted to understand the Decipher behavior when we have multiple DFD linked to the same Batch Type.
So how does Decipher decides which DFD to apply and what order or operations are performed in the backend to make this work?

Trying to understand this behavior for multiple vendor invoice training where each vendor may have a different layout of Invoices.

Hi Tejaskumar,

This is handled by the Classification Model/Classification Stage.

You train a model on multiple examples of the different document types (the more the better the model) and prior to the Capture stage, Decipher will identify the document and assign a DFD.

You can find more information here.

However, your use case for only invoices doesn't sound like it definitely needs multiple DFDs. One of the key benefits of Decipher is that you mostly only need 1 DFD per document type, as it can be trained on hundreds of layouts for a single configuration. If there are fields needed in some, but not others, you can add them and leave them blank when not present.

Any minor adjustments can be made using Specific Versions. There's a video here, which covers how to use them.

Thanks
