We're excited to announce Forms, a powerful new capability on the SS&C Blue Prism Next Generation platform that enables you to trigger automations directly through form submissions. This feature brings human-in-the-loop functionality to Next Gen, making it easier to create collaborative automations between people and Digital Workers.
What Are Forms?
Forms provide a seamless way to initiate automations when human input is required. Rather than relying on workarounds like email polling or custom endpoints, you can now create professional forms that allow users to submit data and automatically kick off automated processes.
When a user submits a form, the data is parsed into structured inputs and either immediately triggers an automation or queues up work for your Digital Workers - all within the Next Gen platform.
Key Capabilities
Powerful Form Building
The Forms builder provides everything you need to create sophisticated forms:
- Rich Question Types: Choose from text inputs, dropdowns, radio buttons, checkboxes, date pickers, ratings, matrices, and more
- Drag-and-Drop Interface: Intuitive visual editor for creating forms without coding. If you want to build your form with code, use the simple JSON editor
- Conditional Logic: Show or hide questions based on previous answers to create dynamic, intelligent forms
- Input Validation: Built-in validation rules to ensure data quality before submission
- Custom Styling: Tailor the look and feel of your forms to match your organization's branding
- Multi-Page Forms: Break complex forms into manageable sections for better user experience
- Calculated Fields: Create expressions and complex business rules within your forms
Seamless Integration with Next Gen Work Queues and Automation Flows
Connect your published forms directly to Next Gen work queues. When a form is submitted, the data automatically flows over as new work queue items. Set up a work queue trigger for your automation flow(s) and reliably leverage form submissions as a new means for triggering your Next Gen automations.
Private Forms for Secure Internal Use
This initial release supports Private forms, which are accessible only to authenticated Next Gen users within your organization, ensuring secure data collection for internal processes.
Why This Matters
Unlock New Use Cases: Many automation scenarios require human initiation or input. Forms remove this barrier, opening up processes that were previously impossible to automate in Next Gen.
Eliminate Workarounds: Say goodbye to complicated triggering mechanisms. Forms provide a clean, user-friendly way to start automations from human input.
Boost Developer Efficiency: Spend less time building custom input mechanisms and more time focusing on automating processes.

We can't wait to see what collaborative experiences you'll create with this new capability.
