BP Scheduler session remains in pending state

sometimes the scheduler is kicked off but it then remain on pending state and it does not run. I have tried recreating schedule still sometimes it fails. Please suggest if there is any resolution

For clues try the Recent Activity report on the BP client and maybe the Windows Event Log of the application server machine.
