Hi Terry,
Great question! During our define phase, our Business Analysts are using Capture tool during their process walkthroughs with SMEs to auto-generate PDD. We then export the contents of the capture to our internal PDD document on Confluence portal. Whereas, developers can use Wireframer tool during "Build" and "Design" phase to create object scaffolds and deploy them from Hub to further implement the actions within BluePrism.
Capture can be helpful to conduct effective walkthroughs and accelerate "define" phase whereas Wireframer can be used as a rapid development tool for generating object scaffolds.
Capture vs Wireframer:
BluePrism Capture tool is a standalone out-of-box downloadable software used for generating the Process Design Document (PDD). The tool records user mouse clicks and captures the interactions as they demonstrate the manual process and exports artifacts which includes PDD document in word / PDF format and Visio workflow.
- Read more on Capture at https://www.blueprism.com/products/bp-capture/
- You can download the capture tool from https://portal.blueprism.com/capture-1-0 [Refer Update below for Latest Capture]
Wireframer is a plugin within Blue Prism Cloud "Hub" Product which can be used to generate scaffold objects(VBO). All scaffold objects that are generated using wireframer tool will com with Attach, Activate and Init actions which then can be implemented within Blueprism.

Where can I find a comparison of Capture to Wireframer, or a description of how they work together.
Thank you.

- A new version of Capture 2.0 got released yesterday (02/25/2021).
- You can download the tool from https://portal.blueprism.com/capture-2-0
- It has an exciting feature where in addition to auto-generating PDDs, you can also export the recorded steps as Blue Prism Process XMLs
- These process XMLs serves as a blueprint template workflow of the recorded process which can be imported into BluePrism for implementation
- This new feature helps in the rapid workflow development
So, now with the above new feature of Capture 2.0, we can now use Capture 2.0 to record steps during process walkthrough, export as PDD and BluePrism Process XMLs, and generate your Business Object scaffolds using Wireframer for the applications involved. If we use both these tools together, we can gain a good acceleration in our design and build phases.
