Credential Manager Access Rights not saved

ChristianPanhan

Hello,

does anyone know, why blue prism does not save credential access rights for specific resources?
When I select "All Resources" and click ok, then this option gets saved correctly.
But when I only select lets say three resources and click ok, this does not work.
The next time I open the same credential the resources are not checked in the GUI.
And also when a process runs, the permissions are not granted, because no resource is selected.

Thanks
Christian

Hello Christian,

which version of Blue Prism are you currently using?

Is it affecting access rights for resources only? How about access rights for Processes for example? Do you see the same behaviour?

Regards

Hello,

we are currently on version 6.4.2.
Only access rights for resources are affected. So selecting specific security roles and/or processes does work. But not saving access rights for specific resources.

Hi Christian,

It sounds like you are missing some permission. Are you logged in as a System Administrator?
Are you the only affected user?

If multiple or all users are affected, I suspect the underlying problem might require a more detailed investigation as I cannot reproduce such issue on my machine.
I suggest to open a ticket via the Blue Prism Portal.

Hello,

we found out, that in the resources-tab of Credential Manager some resources do exist twice.
So we find a resource at the beginning of the list and further down again.
Blue Prism does not save the access right for the resource selected at the top of the list.
But when we select the second entry, it works and the access rights are gonna saved.
After re-opening the credential manager we notice, that now both entries for that resources are checked.

I'm not sure why resources are there twice. But finally it works.

Christian

Hi Christian,

thanks for the feedback. That's very interesting indeed.

And the machine name were exactly the same?
I mean, it wasn't a case of the machine being displayed with the short name and the 'duplicate' being the machine FQDN?

I think you are confused with debug engine and resource pc engine of blueprism. for a credential to be accessed  in debugging mode resource_debug should have access.  For remote execution resource pc should have access so ideally on a single machine both engine exists and both should be provided access.

Hi Anthony,

thanks for you reply. Yes, the machine names are exactly the same.
Both machines are displayed with the same short resource name.
What we notice too is, that the resource names are not sorted.
The resource list first seems to be sorted by computer name and then it continues with a lower values.

Christian

I have the same issue and checking both, the one from the top and the bottom works and applies the changes.
