How can I use "Write Properties" Blue Prism for Input - Search in Chrome

Dear everyone,

I'm a newcomer with Blue Prism and I have an issue that needs your help. How can I set value for the input textbox - search in Chrome at the website "https://www.xe.com/" as below:

I've tried to find solutions but not any so far. Could anyone suggest me any? I appreciate that.

Hi @Huy Chenh,

You won't be able to use Write stage directly to select the data from the dropdown since write stage will only select the data and won't trigger the backend functions to refresh it. Hence try using global send keys to achieve the functionality. Spy the "From" dropdown in AA/UIA/Region mode and apply Global mouse click center. Post that, pass the send keys to select the value and it should resolve your issue.

Hi @ritansh.jatwani,
I have tried using Global Mouse Click but I always see the error as below.

I have checked the element Html and see that From and To are not the dropdown list, they are just text boxes, when we type texts into them and press Enter, the corresponding texts will be filled.

So, is there any Blue Prism activity or a way for Bot can do as simulate as humans do?
I also attached my code (sorry because I cannot upload files). Thanks so much for your help.

HI @Huy Chenh,

Absolutely, using Blue Prism you can imitate exactly what humans are doing.
For achieving your requirements, i would prefer you performing below steps:

1) Spy "From" and "To" textbox using either AA/UIA mode​. The reason for spying with these 2 modes is that you can get "Global Mouse click center" functionality with these 2 modes.
2) Using Navigate stage, perform global mouse click center (and not Global Mouse Click). This action is similar to humans performing click on the textbox.
3) Using Navigate stage, select Global Send Keys and pass the value which you want to select. Post that you can pass either "Enter" or "Tab" using Global Send Keys  to select the desired value.

Please let me know if it still doesn't work.
