How to save a file in Sharepoint from local machine without using application modeller?

I have a requirement as in : I have a file at local machine to which I have to upload to Sharepoint server. I can do this using application modeller but the requirement is to do it with the Code section. If anyone is aware of the same- Kindly,Share the Code section along with the required .dll files and namespaces. Thanks in Advance.! Note : I do not have sharepoint installed on my local machine. I just have an access to its URL using Internet Explorer.

hello, I am in a very similar situation, but I need to interact with SharePoint lists. Does anybody have any solution? Something that uses SOAP or REST web service or whatever else that works.
