Read/get text from an email and also from pdf attachment

Hello,
We have to read and get text from an email or from an email attachment (pdf) such as the invoice nbr, amount, vendor nbr and so forth.
I know some already have done this and will need help how to.
1) how  can  I get the text value from the email body?
2)For pdf attachment,  I was able to save the attachment to a folder and also open the pdf but how can I get the text value from pdf like the Amount? it is remittance.pdf (not image).
2a) For pdf, some mentioned OCR? is this a tool I need to install to get the text value?

I saw few  posts but not clear to me.
Appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Marilyn

Hi Eric,
See attached for the Save Body logic
Also, we are able to fix the format issue. All we have to do is add logic to make Orientation as Landscape in the Open page in MS WORD VBO, see below.
It worked!  see below.

Hi Marilyn,

Perhaps it's only me that is:
  • Living in the EU
  • Working within finance
  • Strictly observing GDPR privacy legislation
...and therefore never would even consider using the name or any other identifying or financial data from any existing company or client in examples mentioned or posted on a any software community. Typically, I would only be allowed to use 'Company A' and 'Company B' etc.

But then again, perhaps things are different on the other side of the pond...

(By all means, do not mark this as the best answer!)

@PvD_SE - good call out. Hopefully those examples were test data? 😬

@MarilynGagarin - You should either edit your posts to remove those images, or at least redact the company name, internal ID, and invoice number (in the embedded images) unless those were made up test examples. Otherwise, I can mark each message as "inappropriate" which will cause them to be removed. I'd rather not do that if possible as there's good information if this thread that could help others who may struggle with the same issue you were looking at.

Cheers,
