Stage logging set to Errors only - stages still appearing in logs despite no errors?

Hey,

I have changed the Stage Logging for a number of loop stages for a particular process to Errors as the session logs have been over 90 pages long. I assumed this would mean that, for all stages set to log on Errors only, the logging for said stages would effectively be disabled unless an error was to occur - however these stages are still appearing on the session logs when there are no exceptions in the process.

Can someone please advise?

Thanks,

Chloe

Was actually an issue on VMs with Logging Level set to All Stages - if anyone was curious.

Hi Chloe Maclntosh,
Can you please say issue on VMs in the sense issue on production bot logging?

Karuna,

Are you asking for clarification on what she meant? If so, it is possible to override the logging levels defined inside the processes/stages by setting a global logging level on an individual resource. Go to System -> Resources -> Management and right-click on one under the "Active Resources" list; it should give you the "Logging Level" option there which will globally apply on all processes run on that resource until the option is set back to default.

Thank you,

Let's say I have set Log errors only at the process level and at the resource level as well.

Now if an exception is encountered after that also it will keep logging errors only for the next items? Or will it keep logging everything after the first exception?

Hi @ChloeMacIntosh,

Did you enabled stage logging to Errors only like below from Process studio or changed at the action stages level?

If Logging Level is set to Errors Only, it will only log errors regardless of whether there are exceptions or not.

I changed the logging level of the Resource/Virtual Machine the process was ran on. Under System -> Resources -> Management and right-click on one under the "Active Resources" list; it should give you the "Logging Level" option there which will globally apply on all processes run on that resource until the option is set back to default.
