VBO not working on prod environment (same machine and app)

MateuszBartczak

Hello Everyone,

Could anyone explain me what might be the reason of below situation:
When I'm running my Business Object that I created for Google Translate on my laptop (easy action of getting single word translation) it is working perfectly fine while using developer environment. However, when I wanted to run it on production environment it is giving me an error of "Cannot find element". What is even more strange, when I asked a Process Controller to do that, he was able to run both environments on his computer properly. Than again, at the VM that we are using for running bots - problem for prod environment appeared back. Did any of you Guys ever meet similar problem?

All other vbo's are working fine, and we didn't have such problem yet.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hello @MateuszBartczak,

Whenever you encounter the error "cannot find element", the most probable root cause of such scenarios is the selection of attributes in the application modeller. It might be possible that you have selected certain attributes which are dependent on your specific environment (dev environment) and once you moved the code to production, the attributes got changed. Please verify if the windows title is same in both the environments. Also, you can verify that there should not be any dependency on "Parent related attributes" such as Parent URL, Parent ID etc. Even avoid using path attribute since it can also change.

Hi @ritansh.jatwani,

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, indeed selectors changes a little bit between these two environments, but even after finding common attributes it still not work on my computer and vm resource, but works perfectly at Controller laptop. I'm rather curious what is the reason that attributes looks differently, even if I run both environments from same computer, and theoretically they are configured same way.
p.s I'm also not able to spy elements on my own on prod environment, but I guess that might be a matter of permitted roles.

Best Regards

Hi,

Need some more info to understand clearly.

Are all windows same (Win10,Win7) ? have you used UI mode to spy that element ?

Thanks
