Hello,
after spying an element and adjusting the paramaters one wants to use the highlight option to verify the element. I suggest adding a posibillity of delayed hightlight which would mean the App modeler starts looking for the element after i.e. 10 seconds.

Why we need this:
For some elements like item at dropdown list it is extremely difficult to use normal highlight.
I get "no element found" because you need to perform a click or two to make the element present and the app modeler gives up sooner than that.

Just to be clear I'm not suggesting to replace the standard highlight, just to add this as an extra option.

Hi @swolonda,

Thanks for taking the time to raise an idea.

Can I qualify that your idea applies less to what the runtime resource does at execution time and more related to the work that developers are performing at design time?

For example:

  • You create a new element in the application model and start spying/identifying
  • You click or enter text to make a dropdown or other new interface appear/become visible
  • You identify an element from the newly revealed dropdown/interface

I think what you're saying is that when you come to check if the element will be identified correctly using the Highlight... button, this will never work for any such element because you have to take focus away from the business application in use, which will hide the interface on which your identified element exists, which will return an "element not found" error?

When debugging/executing, I imagine this is less of a problem because the automation will perform the click/text entry that triggers the required interfaces to be exposed/shown?

I'm going to set this idea to Needs More Info pending your reply.

Rob

Hello @robert.nicklin ,
Yes, the idea is ment to make developers' lives easier during design time.

This is not related to executing the process.
