IntelliSense feature in Code Stage

Would be great if BP can upgrade the Code Stage action with IntelliSense/AutoComplete features which is available in Visual Studio/Excel. It'll be helpful to check on the related Functions, Classes, syntax and more. It will ease out the developers work to create their customized objects if required.

Thank you for raising you idea with the idea portal.

Could you help me understand why the current work around of developing the code outside of Blue Prism in a more robust IDE like Jet Brains, Visual Studio, or Visual Studio Code doesn't help you with this problem?

Would you be willing to describe your idea in more detail, possible add a quick illustrated example and how this idea would have benefited your development in that case.

Hi Christoper,

I agree there are different IDE's for building the code.  But, it involves separate cost and other IT Policies based on the organization. If we would get the IDE in Blue Prism tool it would be easy for developer to work on.

I'm pleased to confirm that we're planning to introduce a simple autocomplete/intellisense feature to code stages in the next release of Blue Prism Enterprise, which is Blue Prism 7.4. We appreciate that Blue Prism will likely never replicate all the capabilities of a dedicated code development tool, but this should go some way to making the code stage within Design Studio more user friendly for simple code development and editing. 

I'm updating the idea status to Planned - Next as a result of this release being planned for the second half of this year. More precise delivery dates will be added to the product roadmap as we approach the progress through the year, and this idea's status will be updated accordingly.

The delivery estimate for the upcoming Blue Prism Enterprise 7.4 release has now been set to Q4 2024. Given that this is now within 6 months, I've updated the status of this idea to Planned - Now.
