We’re Upgrading the SS&C Blue Prism Community Experience

Here at SS&C Blue Prism, we are on a mission to elevate the digital experience across all of our websites. These improvements will ensure smoother navigation, quicker access to information, and an overall enhancement in usability. And ultimately, a better experience for you.

We’re really excited to let you know that our SS&C Blue Prism Community platform will be one of the first sites to receive these transformative overhauls.

Through this blog, our goal is to offer you detailed insights into the forthcoming changes: what to expect, when to expect them, and how they will directly enhance your experience.

About The SS&C Blue Prism Community

We launched this Community in 2019 to bring together all the conversations about Blue Prism into one place: a place where we could help connect those passionate about robotic process automation (RPA) and intelligent automation (IA), to share best practices and ask and answer questions.

Five years on, and we are incredibly proud of how our community has grown: this platform and our programs have become a vital part of our business, and a valuable resource for SS&C Blue Prism employees and users alike.

In order to keep this momentum going, we’re taking steps to future-proof our Community home to ensure we can provide the support our users need at every step of their automation journey.

What’s Changing and When?

The first thing that you’ll notice is the look and design of the site. We’ve had redesigns before, but this one is going to be the most significant! Behind the scenes, we’re moving to a new platform, so some of the functionality may appear slightly different, but the content will all stay the same.

On Friday, March 15, 2024, this website will become “read-only”; there won’t be an opportunity to post new questions or reply to threads. In the background, we’ll be moving all the data from one system to another. Don’t worry, we have digital workers helping!

All being well, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, the new version of the site will appear in its place: fully functional and ready to host your discussions. Just log in as you normally would!

We’ll have a thread highlighted on the front page for you to note any concerns or bugs you might find. That way, we can fix them quickly.

What Do I Need To Do?

The only things we’re not able to migrate to the new platform are your private messages.
Before March 15, please check your Community inbox and make a copy, screenshot or just read any messages one more time before they get deleted.

Some New Exciting Things To Look Forward To:

Here’s a sneak peek of some of the things we’re excited to show you!

  • A new text editor that makes it easier (and more fun) to compose your posts.
  • Products tagging: if you’re really interested in learning more about one of our offerings, then we have a product page just for you!
  • One Product Forum for help and support discussion – no more uncertainty about where to post.

Where Is Everything Going?

We’re taking the opportunity to refresh the site structure and navigation, allowing you to get where you need to easily. The four main sections are:

  • Get Help. You’ll find most discussions from the current product communities (SS&C Blue Prism Capture, Chorus BPM and Decipher communities) in the Product Forum. Messages are tagged with the product (or products) they mention.
  • Get Started. This is where you’ll find discussions and content to get you up and running with SS&C Blue Prism, including our University forum.
  • Get Creative. This is where to go if you have a spark of innovation or you’re looking for inspiration. Check out blogs and blueprints, dive into the ROM Hub or suggest improvements.
  • Get Connected. Our Community’s home. Here’s where our user groups, language-based communities, and the all-important off-topic conversations live.

What Else Is Happening?

Over the next few months (and years) you’ll continue to see improvements to the Community site as we innovate and connect technologies. As I said, we’re making changes to all our websites to make them easier to use, and the Community will lead the way on this journey.

We have a wish list of ideas from our team and you that we continually review and implement. We’ll even be launching a whole “Community Suggestions” section of the new site for you to tell us what you need.

In the long term, we’ll always need your feedback in focus groups, survey responses (so useful) and just dropping us a message. We always love to hear from you.

Thanks for your support and understanding while we make these adjustments – and we really hope you like the new home of the SS&C Blue Prism Community!

See you on March 19 for the big reveal…

Your friends from the Community team: James, Amy, Grace, Kevin, Michael, and Charlotte.

Grand! And not a moment too soon!

Fingers crossed and hoping for:

  • Active monitoring of the various 'Get...' channels
  • A better user experience
  • Solid search functionality

What results do you anticipate when searching on eg. Google? Will it provide broken links only or a usable result set?

Paul - on the search result point - our upgrade does include some improvements to the metadata that we can provide to search engines, which in turn should lead to better SERPs. But it may be a slow improvement for 2 reasons:

  1. Everything will have to be crawled again
  2. As with any new feature, adoption takes time to get right

Similar story with user experience. We think its better, but you guys use it more than us and can keep us honest there. The key thing is that our new platform is much easier to develop than our current solution, so there are more options available to us to meet your needs than before.
