Hello! I'm Jo Davison, product manager at SS&C Blue Prism, where I oversee the development of SS&C | Blue Prism Desktop and SS&C | Blue Prism Interact. Since joining the team in early 2019, my focus has been on enhancing our human-in-the-loop capabilities to better meet the needs of our customers.
Over the past year, I've had the privilege of working closely with many of you, listening to your feedback on how SS&C Blue Prism Interact is being used and what improvements would make it even more valuable to your operations. This input has been instrumental in shaping the future direction of our products.
Today, I'm excited to share some of the latest developments we've made in Interact and our Hub platform, including the highly anticipated 5.1 release. This update is packed with features that not only address your requests but also pave the way for more efficient and scalable automation across your organization.
Why Interact and Hub Matter: Key Features Driving Automation Success
As we've continued to evolve Interact based on your feedback, it's clear that customers value the platform for a number of key reasons.
At its core, Interact bridges the gap between people and automation, allowing businesses to expand their automation capabilities by integrating human involvement where necessary. Whether it's through designing forms or managing workflows, Interact empowers teams to work seamlessly alongside digital workers.
Customers value Interact for its capabilities to:
Expand automation possibilities by automating processes that need human involvement.
Streamline form development, enabling the design of interactions with digital workers.
Provide strong safeguards and governance via SS&C | Blue Prism Enterprise.
Facilitate human decision-making and central updates to back-end systems in partnership with a digital worker.
Empower humans to handle exceptions and prevent automation breakdowns by contributing information and confirming data at the start, during, at the conclusion or at any point throughout an automation process.
What does Hub do?
SS&C | Blue Prism® Hub serves as a productivity platform for managing the automation lifecycle. It supports the various roles within the SS&C | Blue PrismÒ Robotic Operating ModelÔ (ROM) by providing capabilities that ensure the successful and scalable implementation of an automation strategy.
The Hub is designed as a lightweight “empty” application that’s populated with a series of plugins or features, creating what is known as the plugin architecture. This allows the SS&C Blue Prism team to develop features iteratively and release them for use by Hub administrators.
One of the plugins available for this purpose is Interact.
I am excited to divulge details about the latest Hub and Interact 5.1 release – a highly anticipated update to this well-regarded product in our portfolio.
Hub and Interact 5.1 Release
Understanding how to manage work across teams, functions and geographies is crucial for collaboration between human and digital workers.
The Interact Teams Management feature stands out in this release. It emerged as the top development requested by our Interact customers, aiming to streamline their planning processes and support the widespread adoption of Interact.
Customers can now deploy Interact more broadly, enabling them to oversee, manage, and redirect work throughout the organization.
Teams Management enables effective oversight and redirection of work, with streamlined task viewing and reassignment among teams. Teams are established based on organizational needs. Often, customers request the creation of teams for specific functions, like HR or finance, to organize task distribution among qualified colleagues, thus safeguarding sensitive information.
Departments might also create specialized teams to handle tasks more efficiently, perhaps aligned with customer accounts, to maintain data security and ensure staff adherence to necessary guidelines and governance.
Team Manager oversees the team's workload, including individual member assignments. They can plan ahead for absences to maintain workflow continuity. They also have the authority to transfer tasks to another team under their management and assign tasks to particular individuals as required.
Additionally, this release brings improvements to assist in form development and management, integrating features that have been a focus of our collaborative customer efforts.
This release, from a Hub perspective, introduces a new installer for the Hub framework and plugins. This installer consolidates and simplifies the installation process, thereby reducing the time and effort required. Additionally, the release features enhanced and more flexible user authentication, as well as improved flexibility, failure handling, and resilience. We’ve also incorporated several enhancements based on customer feedback.
We possess a wealth of information regarding the release, which I hope has sparked your curiosity to discover more.
