Automate.exe Crashes when using Run Macro

Siva_Ramakrishn

Automate.exe getting crashed intermittently on Runtime resource while using Run Macro action.

I have tried both MS Excel VBO and MS Excel Extended VBO still facing the same issue.

I am not able to figure out the issue as this is happening intermittently.

I am using Version 6.7.

Any leads or inputs would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Siva,

Not sure if you took reference to KB article : https://portal.blueprism.com/customer-support/support-center#/path/Automation-Design/Studio/Code-Stages/1158824822/How-do-I-fix-error-Exception-has-been-thrown-by-the-target-of-an-invocation-when-runn...

If that doesnt help,  share with us the error details so people experienced the same issue could  jump in and help.

Hi Henry,

Thanks for the link and that not what I am looking for.

There is no error message, Automate.exe on Runtime Resource is just getting killed. This is happening intermittently but not every time I run the process.

In Control Room Runtime Resource status shows as disconnected.

Hi Siva,

Can you check the logs in Event Viewer?

Hi

Sorry I meant check the logs for any errors when the process was running. Can you also tell us what your macro is trying to do? My suspicion is that the listener on your machine is sitting in the forefront of your screen in front of the application you are trying to interact with and that the macro is actually closing it because its selecting the listener when executing the actions.

HI Michael,

There is no error in the log. I have attached the Flow of the code and log file, it runs till 'Write to Clipboard' action according to logs and that's it. Run Macro is where the issue is.

My Macro deals with only Excel files which operated in background, It is not interacting with any forefront application, I believe Macro is not closing listener.

Thanks,

Ah ok it could be that this macro needs the application open depending on what its doing and how its been written. Have you tried adding a 'Show' stage and running the process again? It might yield the same result but best to rule out all possibilities.
