Excel - Saving a shared document

A central control spreadsheet that needs to be used by multiple users is saved as part of each run of my process. Operations will need to view this spreadsheet to see what stage each member is at, however when I change the spreadsheet to shared it says "SaveAs method of Workbook class failed" where it works without it being shared.... Any advice on how to save a shared document would be greatly appreciated.

It is a bad idea to have your robots using a shared spreadsheet that can be locked by other manual users. Wheras conflicts between the manual staff accessing the spreadsheet are easily rectified (by users talking to each other to understand/trying again later if locked), this is not an option for an automated process. My recommendation would be to re-orchestrate your business process with automation/robots in mind. What is the actual requirement of this central control spreadsheet?
