You sound like a new user, have you completed all the required training for the developer role and if you are going to be running processes also (something that should never happen if a secure logical access model is in place as part of your ROM) there are controller and schedule tutorials as part of training also. If you are a trainee as part of a larger client/partner RPA capability you should have a more experienced training mentor helping you and pointing you towards the relevant training collateral.
The Excel VBO is always available - the only reason it would not work would be if you do not have Excel installed (which would be crazy for an RPA process that intefaces with a workbook) or you are interacting with Excel over a virtualization technology like Citrix - in which case you need to take the Surface Automation training.
