No License received

HI
I just created my accounts on the Blue Prism web site and downloaded the Blue Prism Learning Edition but none of the emails I've received appear to contain license information. Should I have received these?

Also, the Blue Prism installer completed ok and appears to have started BluePrism which is asking me to Sign-In to Blue Prism but I don't appear to have any credentials which work.

Any suggestions as to what I should be doing or is there some step I've missed.

Hi John,

The Blue Prism Learning Edition license is sent as an attachment to an email (*.lic file).

To request a license, you need to visit the Blue Prism Digital Exchange. This link will take you to the Learning Edition page:

https://digitalexchange.blueprism.com/dx/entry/3439/solution/blue-prism-learning-edition

Once the page has opened, click 'Get Learning Edition'; you may be redirected to sign into your portal account if you have not already signed in. Once done, the Learning Edition License request form will be displayed. Submit this form to request the Learning Edition license.

You should receive the license within the hour, however don't worry if it takes a little longer. Also, check your junk folder to make sure it has not been routed to there.

Thanks John.

I see the problem now - you have registered using a domain which belongs to an organisation which is recognised as one of our customers, so it is requesting you associate your account with the relevant company on the DX.

2 options to resolve this;

  1. Go to the Blue Prism portal, and change your email address to a personal email account
    or
  2. Create a second Blue Prism portal account using your personal email account.

Once this is done, the Learning Edition page in the DX should recognise this.

Please let me know how you get on.

HI Carl
Thanks for getting back to me - I clicked on the link you provided but the page it takes you to does not have any button or hyperlink which says Get Learning Edition or anything which is obviously similar.

Strange; this is a screenshot showing the button, which is accessed using the link:

In that case,

  • Navigate to https://digitalexchange.blueprism.com/
  • Click in the Trial header
  • Under the Learn column, click the Free button
  • Click the Get Learning Edition button
  • Submit the form.

If you are still not seeing the above, please provide additional information about what you see at the Blue Prism Digital Exchange.

Thanks,

Hi Carl
Tried that but it takes me to a page like this -

Thanks John.

There is a note on the screen just above the Request Information button. You need to click that link to associate your account with a company or provide company details. You should be able to use your name as the company name.

Once this is done, you should gain access to request the license.

HI Carl
The link asks me to select a company from a list of various NHS organisations - my NHS Organisation isn't a customer yet so doesn't appear. So I assume you want me to hit the Create New Company button and put myself down as a company ??? I wouldn't want to do that if it exposed personal details like my address etc?

Hi Carl
Ok - I'll probably just flip the email address for now - seems simpler.
I'm, the Integration and Interoperability architect at one of the largest NHS Hospital Trusts in the UK and we are keen to take a look at Blue Prism but I don't think it would be felt appropriate for us to list ourselves as a customer at this stage. Other members of my team are likely to instal Blue Prism too so I'll pass on this experience to them so they don't fall into the same trap.

john
