SQL Exception - Connection Timeout Expired

Hi all, We seem to be getting an issue with processes terminating and when checking the various event logs I am seeing this error: "System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Connection Timeout Expired. The timeout period elapsed while attempting to consume the pre-login handshake acknowledgement.  This could be because the pre-login handshake failed or the server was unable to respond back in time. The duration spent while attempting to connect to this server was - [Pre-Login] initialization=8; handshake=14986" When we have seen this happen sometimes it has affected every running process but on other occasions it will only affect a small number of running processes. I was wondering if anyone else has seen the above error and managed to resolve as so far we have not been able to make any progress with this. Regards, Tom Gordine

Hi , This is some thing like purely database connection(sqlserver) connection issues,  please check the database engine is up and running, some times there will be causing this due to firewall blocks as well, you can check in this way to identify root cause.    Thanks, Ramana Reddy Beeda.
