The application modeler should provide an API to interact with application elements in code stages so complex/missing functionality can be implemented. I would like to interact via C# with applications which are already connected to Blue Prism by using the functionality BP uses internally (e.g. directly accessing the .NET Process object in a code stage which holds the connection to the target application to send Win32 messages)

Hi @ChristopherJank,

Thanks for taking the time to raise this idea.

Having consulted with our development team, they've advised that the way that the Application Modeller has been developed today, element data is serialized into strings and as such would not provide the element object references (pointers) that you would need to access and manipulate spied application elements directly within code stages.

Given that changing this would represent a significant undertaking, and given the low number of votes for this idea from the wider community, I'm going to update this idea to Not Planned.

Regards,

Rob
