Would it be nice to have a bar of some sorts, when debugging (pressing play) that a tool bar is made available in order to pause during the debugging. Especially in Surface Automation, when each time i'm trying to pause, the process brings the the target application forward and you struggle to pause. I even end up closing the entire BP, just so that the process can stop.

Hello @ShuaibSalie,

Thanks for taking the time to raise an idea.

We're currently in the process of creating designs for the more modern, web version of version of the RPA Design Studio - this idea of having the debugging toolbar separate and always appearing on top when debugging is an interesting one I'd like to put in as a consideration for the future of Design Studio.

What this does mean however is that this is unlikely to be provided in Blue Prism Enterprise as an enhancement to our current products - depending on your preference I can shift this idea to be "Planned - Later" and Next Gen related or leave it as associated to BPE and mark it as "Not Planned". Let me know your thoughts.

I'm going to mark this idea as Needs More Info while I await your feedback.

Regards,

Rob

Hello @ShuaibSalie,

Thanks for taking the time to raise an idea.

I can confirm that we don't intend to create a debugging toolbar that will appear separate to the Design Studio interface while debugging is taking place, but we are aware of the problem that you and other users are highlighting here related to pausing/stepping over/stepping out while an application is in the foreground of a user's machine. There are some other ideas on the community ideas portal which are talking about introducing more keyboard shortcuts to help with this situation, and this is likely the route that we'll consider taking vs. showing a separate debugging toolbar (at least in Blue Prism Enterprise - we may revisit this idea in our Next Gen Automation Studio UIs).

Based on this update, I'm going to mark this idea as Not Planned at this time.

Regards,

Rob
