I hear you, but I think we need to understand which components of the portfolio you want to auto-update and which you want control over when it updates.
The title says Next Gen application auto updates, so I’ll focus on that:
What you have available today with SS&C Blue Prism Next Gen:
Next Gen Hybrid Cloud RPA automatically updates the cloud components for all customers, roughly every two weeks.
The Next Gen on-premises, self-deployed components (Digital worker and Design Studio) are not automatically updated because our customers want control over when to update those, in a managed way.
Questions:
Were you aware that we had a platform that was automatically updated?
Is it the Next Gen Digital Worker and Design Studio, you are wanting to update automatically?
If so, what additional control would you want / expect to manage the auto-updating?
I look forward to reviewing your responses.
Kind regards

Hi @samuel.suc , Good day!! Its a good idea but not relevant to the RPA. if auto updates occurs in the applications it is big challenge in RPA codes, failing to identify the elements & lot of issues may occur.
Thank you for your thoughts, they are consistent with what we hear through our other customers too, in that they would prefer to keep everything locked and working (Operating system, browsers, applications including Blue Prism) and then manage whole sales changes periodically, including updating the Blue Prism software, to ensure that key automations continue to operate consistently.
With the SS&C Blue Prism Next Generation platform, we’ve separated out:
the operating platform, which we regularly update for our customer (and Partners),
and the execution engine (Digital Worker and Design Studio), which is self-deployed and updated only by our customers (or their partners).
This hybrid approach means that our customer gets the latest and greatest from say the orchestration update instantly, but they are still able to control and manage the roll out of digital workers.
In addition, we have provided the ability to update each digital worker individually from the rest. For example, update DW1 to the latest version, leaving another 99 digital workers on the previous version, thereby, minimizing the changes to a small updates (rather than the whole system and all automations need updating at once).
I trust this makes sense and you find a useful addition to you.
Kind regards

sorry for the late response, so basically if it isn't the best approach to automatically update the design studio/digital worker app. Then it would make sense to make a button in the Design Studio that would say something like "new update" and that way we wouldn't have to download it etc. just update it with one click of a button?
I understand and I’ve tweaked the title of the request to Next Gen application automatic updates (Design Studio client) and set the status to Reviewed.
