When a process is running in Control Room, you can have a look at the log to see if it's doing all the right things. Unfortunately, this log is currently only a snapshot at the time you open it. If you want to see the current state again, you have to open a new log, which again is only a snapshot.

While I do appreciate you cannot have live updating logs all the time, this option would certainly be very nice to have for those problems that require to keep track of what the process is doing as it runs along. For that reason it would be very nice indeed to have access to an new log option that allows for live logging.

Happy coding!

Thank you @PvD_SE

I’ve set the Idea Status to Reviewed, and left it open for the community to comment on and vote for too.

A number of our automations are API only, therefore monitoring progress and activity by watching a digital worker becomes ineffective because nothing happens on screen for one to see.

Would really like the ability to have a live session log, at the moment (at least in 6.10.1) the session logs load in up to the time you open the session log window.

Ideally a seperate async thread would be created to allow a background task to constantly update the data inside of the main Blue Prism process, and keep the session logs up to date.

Thank you for raising @jordan.harvey.norfolkcc

I reviewed and then closed this one as a duplicate of View running log - snapshot or live logging?.

I suggest you move you vote their so that we know all the people who wanted the capability and you’d get notified when there is progress.

Kind regards

You can sort-of do this already. Open the session log and then press F5 to refresh the log. It does refresh at the start though so you then have to scroll or use CTRL+End to get to the bottom.
