Screen: Control Room --> Schedules
Feature: "Send Email" Option under "On Exception" dropdown field

Description:
It would be very helpful if we have a "Send Email" functionality backed in the Schedule page as we can configure the email address and an automated email will be sent with the error if the schedule fails to kickoff or terminates with an un-handled exception.

Today most of the schedules silently fail and no notification is being sent to the teams. Embedding "Send Email" on Errors and Exception of Schedules will be a great feature that can help the product.

Email sending can be sent in many ways - outlook, exchange, smtp. It is not good for Blue Prism to choose one of the in the schedule area. Instead the individual processes should decide how to report an exception before they fail. Use the exception block functionality to catch errors and handle them.

Thank you Peter for sharing your thought. I agree induvidual processes should handle email if exception is occured at process level. But,

What if the schedule did not even kickoff due to resource being busy or other schedule errors. The idea above taks about having an email field on the scheduler page for emailing a comman separated emails if the schedule fail to trigger in first place.

Request your thoughts on this.

I agree with both, process related errors should be handled in the process design using exception blocks.
For Schedule related errors this does not work. It would be good that for certain common schedule errors such as resource is busy a notification can be send to a stakeholder
