We are excited to announce our Community member of the month for October @Neeraj Kumar

Neeraj has been working to make the community a better place for everyone by investing his time in giving community feedback across October.

I would like to recognise Neeraj for being one of our most helpful community members. Neeraj is a member of the Development Volunteering Community, the Product Research Program, and Champions Program. He also took part in our Inaugural Ideation workshop back in June. This was a virtual workshop for a small group of members which focused on specific problems our Blue Prism RPA team were working on. Ideas shared during the workshop helped the team prioritise enhancements needed for the Blue Prism Design Studio and we a grateful to all the participants in these workshops and we will look to hold future workshops like this.

We could go on for days listing the ways Neeraj helps the community, but instead let’s hear from the man himself!

Tell us a bit about yourself and how did you start in RPA / Blue Prism?
.

I have worked in RPA for the past 5 years I started my RPA journey by doing a POC for one of our customers. Since then, and I have been working with Blue Prism ever since. I have worked in different roles like Developer, Senior Developer, Solution Architect, and Consultant. In 2022, I switched from a Telco based company to a company providing IT services.

Most interesting automation using Blue Prism? / Best tip you have learnt for Blue Prism?

Automation are always Interesting 😊. But if had to pick, I will choose one where I worked on Automation requiring collaboration between humans and bots. This was quite complex, it was involved in the current business process, so it took time to first freeze the scope, and then to build the solution we had to do this while without impacting the business side was quite interesting. I learnt to design a solution where human, and bot can work at same time together.

You clearly know your stuff - why do you come to the Community everyday?

Visiting community is part of my daily routine. The community is a great place to engage with developers around the world. I come to community to see what different thing/solution people are trying for RPA automation, and what problems/issues/feedback others have. I try to help members with by sharing my knowledge, and I also learn from others. I also try to complete the course relevant to me in BPU whenever any new course is launched.

What automation have you been involved with that you’re most proud of?

Out of all automation where I worked, I am proud of involved in a multi-bot architecture automation where Target application is legacy and applications is only working in IE compatibility mode in Edge. The unpredictable behaviour, and slowness of Automation require excellent exception handling to be in-corporate in Solution.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself?

I can never watch a horror movie alone, be it a day or night.

As someone who and been given awards for his excellent RPA automations as well and winning an award in the community’s M.A.D awards back in April we feel Neeraj is the perfect person to give advice to the next generation of RPA enthusiasts. Neeraj told us the best idea is to:

‘Start with learning the concept of RPA and Tools, complete Foundation courses from Blue Prism University. Practise on learning edition and join the community to engage with experts.’

It’s great hearing that our university resources are well used, if you would like to use the Foundation Training yourself then follow this link to the developer learning plan on university!

If Neeraj has helped you around the community, why not tell us in the comments and help us thank Neeraj for his hard work making the community the best it can be!

I want to finish with a quote from Charlotte Kennet - Director, Global Customer Experience who has been on calls with Neeraj where he has given the community feedback. Charlotte emulates the whole community teams feeling:

“Not only is Neeraj one of our most active community members as one of our MVPs, he is also instrumental to us continuously improving our programs aimed at serving our community, on the platform and beyond. Thank you for everything that you do, Neeraj. You are a key part of making this community what it is."
