  • 1.  BP API Authorization has been denied

    Hi, Community.

    Can anyone help me out to solve this issue?

    I've received the error response, "Authorization has been denied for this request", while testing the Blue Prism API from the Swagger page. 

    1) At first, the authorization with API key was successful as shown below.

    2) And then, I tried to test the API using the "Try it out!" but failed with "Authorization has been denied for this request". The Key value is the same one that's used in step#1

    Sorry that I'm a newbie here in using API stuff. Please let me know if my testing methodology is not appropriate and please me get through this issue.

    Hi,

    I would suggest to use Postman to test this. You can get a pre-built Postman project from this asset on DX to quickly get started.

    Hi HongJoo,

    One thing you should check, that is the permissions the BP API service account you have in Blue Prism Enterprise. When Authentication Server is set up, such service accounts will be syned to Blue Prism Enterprise. You must take time to configure the permissions to the account, as if it is a normal BP user, so it can perform various tasks required by the API endpoint. Different BP API service accounts can be created for different API access level. In the latest 7.1.2 API reference documentation, there is description around what permissions a certain API endpoint needs for the call to succeed.
