We had the great pleasure of speaking with Santiago Cirés, director of automation at La Segunda Seguros, and Facundo Kargman, team and technology leader at RMR Technology Solutions. The intelligent automation case of La Segunda Seguros, along with RMR Technology Solutions and SS&C Blue Prism, has been a remarkable example of collaboration, organizational implementation and a shared vision for the future.
La Segunda Seguros is recognized as one of the strongest companies in the insurance sector in Argentina, with 90 years of experience and a national presence. RMR Technology Solutions specializes in supporting Argentine companies in their digital transformation processes.
This year, Santiago was awarded Leader of the Year of the Americas at our Customer Excellence Awards, nominated by Facundo. In this interview, both share the details of this interesting journey and the story behind intelligent automation – a source of learning and inspiration for all of us.
A Conversation with Santiago Cirés and Facundo Kargman
What do you feel this achievement has brought you personally and professionally?
Santiago:
"Primarily, it is a great honor to be recognized as a leader by a company like SS&C Blue Prism. This recognition is a tribute to the years of effort by both my team and the partner we relied on to scale and grow this project."
Why did you decide to explore an automation solution?
Santiago:
"When we started this project, we faced complex challenges in adapting our processes to market changes and were implementing new core technology projects in insurance and enterprise resource planning (ERP). Automation promised to improve our operational efficiency by adapting our processes to these constant changes."
What steps did you take to ensure your automation program was successful?
Santiago:
"From the beginning, our approach was to develop a strong internal capability within La Segunda, supported by our strategic partner to define roles, scopes and implementation practices in an internal Center of Excellence (CoE). This collaboration was crucial to our success."
Facundo:
"At RMR Technology, we have observed that those clients who have established an internal CoE or had the vision to form it from the start are the ones who have successfully advanced in automation. We supported La Segunda in forming their internal team five years ago, providing workshops that remain fundamental for them today."
How did you grow the program once it was operational?
Santiago:
"From the outset, we ensured effective communication to our collaborators that the robots were digital colleagues meant to work alongside them. We involved the organization in choosing the robot's name through a contest, which was crucial for gaining their acceptance and commitment."
Facundo:
"Effective communication and a gradual approach were key to bringing robotic process automation (RPA) to every corner of La Segunda. This gradual approach allowed the adoption process to be successful and well-received by all teams."
What KPIs and metrics did you use to measure the success of the automation?
Santiago:
"Initially, we measured success by the process return time. Over time, we began to focus on the economic impact and profitability generated by the automated processes. We saw a significant increase in sales and profitability thanks to the automation of key commercial processes."
What do you consider is next for La Segunda in terms of automation?
Santiago:
"We believe we are on an evolutionary and continuous growth path. Automation technology is now an essential pillar in our digital transformation. We will continue deploying new automations and optimizing processes to fully leverage the tools in the SS&C Blue Prism ecosystem, such as Chorus and Interact, to generate additional value in our processes."
Facundo:
"Collaboration and constant communication will remain fundamental to La Segunda's continued success in its automation journey."
