Chrome Extension removed automatically

Hi Team,

Any one facing issue like chrome extension removed automatically from browser.
I am facing this issue from last 15 days with BPV6.6 only in chrome browser. In the meantime  firefox extension is always there.

I checked with our security team it's fine from there end. But it is working fine in my Development server, so issue is only in my local desktop.

If any one aware about the issue then please let me now.

Note:-
I am using Latest version Chrome and the same version is working fine in my server and in another laptop as well.
So it's not browser issue. It may be security issue from my system side or may be blue prism extension issue from chrome.

Any Help will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hi @Siddheshwar Kore there is  a trick solve it. If your extension removed automatically, then add the extension from chrome store or a link provided by blueprism for direct chrome store. Then it will not be removed from browser try and let me know if any questions.

Hi @_Amlansahoo

Thanks for your response.  Unfortunately the environment is not connected by internet hence I would not be able to use this method. I perhaps think it is a group policy that is removing the extension. However would like to know detailed steps to whitelist the same.

Faced a similar issue.

Found a group policy of ours which forces the install of a security plug in.

However it also uninstalls any other plugins not specifically lists (like Blue Prism)

Group Policy>Google Chrome/Extensions>Configure the list of force-install apps and extensions.

Monitor the Reg Keys below.

Should see one for Blue Prism (use to start with "napd...") but may have changed.

Then see if running a gpupdate / force removes it.

Or Get the extension working again (reinstall) then write a script which monitors those reg keys to see when it is removed.

And look thought the Windows event logs to see what may have been the cause.

Registry Hive HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE or HKEY_CURRENT_USER
Registry Path Software\Policies\Google\Chrome\ExtensionInstallForcelist

Here are some potential solutions for the issue where the BPV6.6 Chrome extension is being removed automatically from your browser:

Check Chrome Extensions Settings:

Ensure that Chrome is not automatically disabling extensions due to security settings or conflicts with other software. Navigate to chrome://extensions/ and verify if the BPV6.6 extension is listed and enabled. If it's disabled, re-enable it and check if the issue persists.
Clear Chrome Cache and Cookies:

Sometimes, clearing the browser cache and cookies can resolve issues with extensions. Go to chrome://settings/clearBrowserData, select "Cached images and files" and "Cookies and other site data," then clear them and restart Chrome.
Reinstall the BPV6.6 Extension:

Completely remove the BPV6.6 extension from Chrome (chrome://extensions/), then reinstall it from the Chrome Web Store. This can fix any corrupted installation or compatibility issues.
Disable Conflicting Extensions:

Temporarily disable other extensions in Chrome to check if there's a conflict causing the BPV6.6 extension to be removed. Restart Chrome after disabling extensions to see if the issue persists.
Update Chrome and System Software:

Ensure that both Chrome and your operating system are fully updated to the latest versions. Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues with extensions.
Check Antivirus or Security Software Settings:

Verify if any antivirus or security software on your local desktop is blocking or interfering with the BPV6.6 extension. Temporarily disable such software to see if it resolves the issue.
Check System Permissions:

Ensure that your local desktop has appropriate permissions to install and run Chrome extensions. Administrative permissions might be required for certain actions related to extensions.
Contact BPV6.6 Support:

If the issue persists after trying the above steps, reach out to BPV6.6 support for further assistance. They may have specific troubleshooting steps or updates related to the extension's compatibility with Chrome.
By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue of the BPV6.6 Chrome extension being automatically removed from your browser.
