Sadly there is no way to return the running status of a process on a runtime resource with a standard VBO within Blue Prism. You can use the "Process Exists" within "Utility - Environment" to check if Automate.exe is running on a resource, but that wouldn't confirm the state of a robot.
We have seen options explored that use the .cmd line to discover this, but it really depends on the exact outcome you want for this; or interactions with the database but this does go against our advice and best practice.
A logging software might prove more effective for you, like Splunk where the status of processes and resources can be logged.
