Hi all,

I want to connect to oracle DB from a client machine, I'm using OLEDB VBO to do this, the error is showing that the"'OraOLEDB.Oracle' provider is not registered on the local machine."

I'm stuck in downloading the ODAC, can anyone help, please.

Hi Aseel,

For interacting with Oracle database, we have a different asset in Digital Exchange I believe: Function for Oracle MDA - Utility - 1.1.0

Try this business object instead and let us know if it works. You can find the guide required to use this asset properly on the asset page itself.

Also, I am providing you some reference threads that also you can follow in case you face any issues while using this asset:

1) Getting Data from Oracle Database
2) Oracle MDA Utility issue

Hi Aseel,

Please check the asset page along with the threads which I mentioned to ensure you have all the pre-requisites in place first as this asset needs additional DLL's to be added in order to work and you might require to download them from Nuget Feed

This wont be a direct plug and play asset and also I would suggest you to show us the exact errors from your error compiler window to get more details on the same.

Hi Aseel,

This DLL must be present in your oracle ODAP installation folder. You can try to copy that and paste it in your Blue Prism installation folder. If you are unable to find the DLL, then you can download the same from the Oracle.ManagedDataAccess Nuget Feed

Hello - Neverminded i used this and this is awesome.

1. Much faster then ODBC.
2. extra action/feature
3. Require less action stage to get the o/p

Dear Mohanty, Your comments are very helpful for me.

I also have had a problem like above to connect Oracle DBMS, and I get issue-shooted for your kind comments.

I wonder if I ask another question to you that  Function for Oracle MDA - Utility - 1.1.0 does not have an action, "Close Connection".

Is it ok not to close the connection after connecting and excuting some queries?

I wonder if Function for Oracle MDA - Utility - 1.1.0 has a auto-closing connection function?
