Your trained Technical Lead/Architect should know to go to the Product Documenation area of the portal for information such as this. There is a data sheet there specifically about cloud deployments as well as seperate documents for Azure and AWS.
My understanding is that cloud deployments may be easier in v6 thanks to the use of WCF instead of .NET remoting but your tech guy will have the network/communication knowledge to know more about that than me.
