Design - Automatically validate LOB field length and truncate value to max field length

Currently, when setting an LOB value in a process design create web service, a configuration is required to set the value to the max character length of the LOB field. If this is not done, and the value is longer than the max length defined for that LOB field, the service will fail. The design tool should be enhanced to automatically truncate the value to whatever the max length is for the LOB field, so this design configuration is not always required.

This seems to be more a webservice implementation error in BP than an enhancement request. As such, it should be reported and fixed by BP regardless of the voting results.

Thank you for submitting this idea.  Note a related idea has been submitted to improve the error message that is produced (unknown database error) when failing to update the object in an automation service.
