Hello BP  Team,

When looking at the logs or navigating through pages, along with the Previous and Next page buttons there should have option to go to last page or skip to a certain page. I've had to skip through 40+ individual pages of log data. This is not the most user friendly.

At this point we' have already had examples of 500+ pages. How do we navigate through this and find what we need?

It's already an issue internally here that we cannot export any reporting from Next Gen. This has posed a challenge early on with our Next Gen experience.

Thank you,

Hi,

I had a few suggestions that came to mind while using Next Generation that I find make the product a little more challenging to work with than it has to be.

1. When looking at the logs or navigating through
pages, along with the Previous and Next page buttons there should have option to go to last page or skip to a certain page. I've had to skip through 40+ individual pages of log data. This is not the most user friendly.

2. Select and mark multiple queue items as exception. Not having this option was a bit of a surprise. What happens if you need to mark a huge volume of items? I had to already and it took long. The data provided to the queue was bad so I could not retry and didn't have much of an option.

Along with that, an option to empty a work queue would also be nice. Having to then select all delete multiple pages of data,  if ever needed, can also be unnecessarily tedious.

3. Set Dev or Production at the top level, not page level: Maybe instead of setting the page to development, maybe at the top level we select when we're in Dev or Prod.

4. Some notification that a published process has dependencies pending review and need to be published/approved would be nice. It can be hard to remember every time you may need to publish new dependencies.

Thank you,

Thank you for raising @shenryifds,

There are 4 separate ideas within your request, could you please split out into separate ideas so that the community can vote for the individual requests.

Question: Re: #3 Set Dev or Production at the top level, not page level – Do you mean within Control Center where you are observing a single environment at a time?

I’ve updated the status to Needs More Info for now, and once split out, I’ll update them individually.

Kind regards

Thank you @shenryifds

I understand the navigating through pages and have updated this one to Reviewed.

The intention was to filter the data down to specific things you are interest in, but I appreciate this is not practical when reviewing logs and wanting to see what happened immediately before and after something interesting took place.

With the exporting of data, could you please raise that one as separate idea request.

Kind regards

Thank you Chris,

Yes I understand the ability to filter is there but that doesn't really help much.

For example if you filter by date it simply filters from oldest to newest or newest to oldest. What if I have 5000+ items across different days and I want to see items for days in between how would I do that?

Maybe I am missing something so please let me know.

Or is the idea that you clear your queue after every session so that you only have new data to filter through when required?

Thank you,

Hi @shenryifds

It sounds like you are looking to do more than finding the problems (failed items) and taking corrective action.  I understand the ask is for the ability to filter, sort, and jump to pages, for you reporting needs.

I mentioned it on a sperate idea, but I’ll repeat here for context: We are working on providing access to the operational data via APIs, so that it can be piped to your Enterprise IT tool of choice. Would this be a suitable solution for you?

Thanks Chris,

Yes that is correct and for different reasons.

In our current example we are making changes to User ID's and had 11,000 changes to make. Our operations team internally would then like a dump of the work queue items so they can see what was completed vs exceptions and recon with their own reports.

I hope that makes sense.
