Happy New Year, everyone!

I hope your 2025 has gotten off to an amazing start. Here in the Community Team, plans are underway for MVP 2025, so if you're interested in joining our exclusive team of kind-hearted, passionate intelligent automation standard-bearers, now's the time to find ways to share your expertise with the Community.

Let's dive into January's best stuff!

The best questions and answers

  1. v7 Upgrade Advice
With Blue Prism version 6 End of Life looming, many of you have been navigating the complexities of upgrading. @john.hammond was kind enough to pop into the Community and ask for tips, guidance and pitfalls to avoid - prompting a mega-discussion featuring incredible time-saving (and sanity-saving) advice from many members. Huge thank you to everyone who has shared advice and, if you have upgraded, please feel free to share your advice and stories here:

  2. GenAI on Blue Prism Runtime Resource
OK - this one was December but it's a truly excellent contribution that is still being discussed in January. @EricNewton had an idea - can you get an LLM running within the Blue Prism runtime? Turns out, with a few 3rd party tools, you can! And to make things all the more exciting, he's included a full guide on how:

  3. Decipher IDP - training to check for signatures
@Nandhakumar has a tricky training challege; when checking to see if a document is signed, how do you train Decipher to look for even tiny signatures? The answer, with thanks to @Ben.Lyons1, is to use the Region Fullness Threshold (RFT) setting. Full guidance with screenshots in the thread:

  4. Merging information across multiple Blue Prism environments
This one comes from @Jrwork, who has a need to pull data from multiple different Blue Prism environments into a single data lake - for the purposes of reporting. Luckily, @steven.boggs has the solution - our Data Gateways Engine! Use it to push data from Blue Prism environments for long-term storage, machine learning and more.

Huge thank you to everyone who shares their problems and challenges for us to solve together. No question is too big or small, and our Community is filled with folks who just love to help.

Something to inspire you

I adore this story from @SilvinaBP at Santander, describing how they won a Customer Excellence Award in 2024 for their RPA solution that automatically resolves up to 70% of customer complaints around malfunctioning ATMs. That result is achievement enough, but there's some exciting side effects that you should read about in the full blog post too.

Over to you...

What's one thing we could be doing more of as a Community to help everyone succeed? It's something I'm pondering as we head into a new year, and I'd love your input. Let me know in the replies.

Thank you all once again for being a part of our global automation brain trust. This Community is a really special place, and it's all the more special with you in it.
