Devneet Mohanty: Community member of the month - November

By Lorena Seco de Herrera Ortega posted 12-06-2021 14:07

We're very excited to announce our Community member of the month for November @Devneet Mohanty

Devneet describes himself as an Intelligent Automation Consultant who has worked on multiple frameworks, RPA tools and scripting languages. When he came across Blue Prism thanks to one of his projects he got addicted to keep learning and developing. It's been now 2 years since he joined the Blue Prism Community and during that journey he's published more than 50 posts, sharing his knowledge while still posting about the daily challenges he faces.

Devneet has recently reconnected with the Community, being very active and collecting more than 10 Community Coins within a month - now, that's impressive!

It was great having a chat with Devneet and discovering some fun facts about him. Check all the answers below!

Tell us a bit about yourself and how did you start in RPA / Blue Prism?

"I am Devneet Mohanty, currently working as Intelligent Process Automation consultant in Price Waterhouse Chartered Accountants LLP, Mumbai, India. I completed my BTech in Electronics and Telecommunications towards the mid of the year 2018.

Though my specialization was in electronics, my keen interest has been towards software programming since a very young age when I first started working with Logo at an age of 10 and since then have been exploring the software development domain by learning various programming languages such as C, Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, and VB .NET.

It was towards the mid of the year 2018, when I came across Blue Prism thanks to one of my projects at Accenture Solutions that I came across the term Robotic Process Automation and naturally I got addicted to keep learning and developing something unique using this tool.

Since, then my journey in RPA has been such a wonderful experience that I got opportunities in other tools as well but my love for Blue Prism is still at the top it being my first RPA tool and still being one which I personally always love to work on."

Most interesting automation using Blue Prism? / Best tip you have learnt for Blue Prism?

"My most interesting projects have been most of my Youtube playlists that I have created in order to integrate Dialog Flow chatbots with Blue Prism, an attended automation using Blue Prism which was relatively a very new concept that we came up with and also one of my projects where we deployed a custom machine learning algorithm on Heroku to predict the cases where the loan returns can be evaluated based on the customer prior records of transactions and we integrated the same with Blue Prism via API’s. For knowing lots of such interesting use cases you can also visit my channel at: https://www.youtube.com/c/AutomateWithDev

Also, the best tip that I give to any developer out there is, always try to keep your solutions modularized, clean and concise. Never think of automating all at once, rather divide and conquer your business problems into fragments of workflows and Blue Prism is something which gives you all that flexibility as a bliss. With Blue Prism now it has been around 3 and a half years and still I would say this has been my top notch tip that I even give to me while thinking of any solution."

Why do you come to the Community everyday?

"If one thing that I have always known based on my very short experience of around 4 years in this domain that is you never know enough and even if you know a lot, it is always a treat to help others and learn more about their experiences so that you can come up with something even more innovative.

Also, to be very honest Blue Prism Community kind of grows on you after a while and it is always a wonderful opportunity to learn more from other people in the community and help them in any way possible.

P.S. I am starting to love to collect all these Blue Prism Community Coins and Badges!!"

Tell us a fun fact about yourself

"The fun fact about me is that my life technically is revolving around bots all day long. Even when I explain a very simple life problem then also my RPA knowledge some interferes with my analogies. For instance, why should we always keep moving ahead in life even if there are setbacks? My answer well your setbacks can be automated if you access it properly, set up a deadline date to fix it and deploy a solution to work in Production with gradual ramp up plans of happiness and you drink a cup of coffee and relax afterwards."

What automation have you been involved with that you’re most proud of?

"While I was working at WNS Global Services, I came across a very complicated project which was from Insurance domain, and it was my first time learning more about it. This process integrated almost 7-8 different applications and that too a cluster of applications ranging from relatively old HTML web applications to case management system along with three mainframes applications.

The best part about this project was that within a month and a half we were able to complete the development and this project helped to reduce the overall process AHT from 45 min per case to around 10-15 min per case for an overall amount of 150 cases per day. This was by far one of the most challenging use cases that I came across but thanks to my Technical Architect and seniors that I was able to deliver such a complicated process in such a short time."

What do you love the most about the Community?

"I have been in the Community for some time though I was not much active before but the way I have seen the community been growing with quick responses, people going ahead of their day-to-day busy schedules to give automated solutions, tips has been such a heart-warming sight to see. Moreover, the programmes that have been organised in the recent times, be it Community Coin Challenge, 24 Hour Challenge or Skele-fun Quick Quiz – all of them have been a wonderful experience to take part in. I am excited to see what the future holds for more such exciting events."

Tell us about a current hobby!

"My favourite hobby apart from building robots as I have talked a lot about it in previous questions, have been participating in challenges be it hackathons or any discussions related to automation, listening to music, watching shows on Netflix, or being glued to my TV while watching English Premier League supporting my favourite team: Manchester United etc.

Personally, most of my time either goes on thinking about posting a new YouTube video on any automation solution, mentoring other developers, or listening to Weeknd."
