Hi,

I've a an shared email box configured in my bot's outlook and we use . The bot runs daily and reads the emails present in the shared mailbox(Inbox folder) at time it is not reading emails from the shared email box in PROD. Issue persists for 2-3 days and it gets auto resolved without any changes in outlook or Blueprism. We're using Blueprism 6.10.5 has someone faced this issue. Please let me know what could be the reason for this. I'm using MS Outlook Email VBO from DX.

Thanks,
Babjee Vangipurapu.

Hi Babjee,

Whilst I do not have the solution to your Outlook problem, I have noticed actions on several applications needing a little more time then they did before. We used to be at 6.5 and have recently migrated to 6.10.

Whenever things go south in 6.10 Production, while we had no problem in 6.5 Production, and not in 6.10 Development either, we add some waiting time after the stage. For most of the issues, this seemed to fix the problem.

Hi Babjee,

I am working on the same version of Blue Prism and I have also seen this issue when trying to retrieve emails in a Shared or Local mailbox.  It seems like Outlook is not refreshing in the background at the time the action is taking place.  Here are a couple of workarounds that we have used:

  1. Create a retry loop with a 5 to 10 second wait before retrying. In most cases the process will grab the emails on the second time around.
  2. Create a Launch action for Outlook. Have Outlook open at the time the process is interacting with it and close once finished.

Hope that helps!  😊

Use of Cached Exchange Mode in Outlook seems to work for some. Other times, it seems to introduce problems. I would say verify whether you are using Cached Exchange Mode on the specific digital worker, and also check to see if the Download shared folders option is enabled. If they are enabled, try disabling them and see how your process responds. If they are not enabled, try enabling them. Make sure to restart Outlook after any change like this.
