All - I stumbled upon one of Ideas from Ideas portal about grouping environment variables into a folder by @MallikarjunaDon - I personally feel its a great idea and would trim down lot of pain in messed up environment Variables Tab with 100s of environment variable.
If you liked the idea, do upvote and help this get through to product development team for review.

Thank you @Mukesh Kumar for raising awareness.
I've closed the Idea (Create Folder to Group Environment Variables) as it's a duplicate of:
I am sharing on this thread for transparency and so the people that did vote, have an opportunity to upvote the Grouping or Filtering Environment Variables one.

PS: Nice work on the JSON Key and Value pairs approach 😊

Hi Mukesh,
upvoted for this idea.
just to add some thing on top of it. I know similar to this idea was present in the past I think it might be challenging to implement for lower version of blue prism (Other than Version7) lets assume that if we have 500 automation/process and each automation/process has approximately 10 Environment variables( making up this number by taking the average no of variables) so total number of variables are 5000
As environment variables has Name, Type,Description, value columns so total 4 columns (5000*4= 20k) so likely if we pull this data and present in the environment variable, likely BP will take forever to load. since version 7 BP is using web app so likely it is possible.

Hi Harish - Fingers crossed let's see how this goes this time - from last few years to sort the view and keep its readability by not doping 10s, 20s of environment variable - we started creating JSON Key Value Pairs for all the environment variables in its expression editor and subsequently calling by action JSON to Collection inside the process :
Something like this inside the expression in environment variable tab:

Hi,
Voted for the idea when it first came out, as well as all other similar ideas to get some order in some parts of the BP UI mess.
There's a long list of idea's to get better organized in BP, none of them implemented as far as I am aware. There seems to be a focus on implementing new tech instead of fixing things that would make life easier when working with BP every day. I do not deny the importance of following tech developments globally, but the perhaps more simple stuff seems not to be addressed. I took this up once online and was assured this was not the case, but I am still waiting for results. I proposed two tracks for development: one for the techy stuff and another to make the UI better. Note that we are at BP 6.10, so perhaps all was solved in BP 7? (...nope)
Whenever we migrate to a newer version of BP; I keep a list of improvements that I notice have been implemented and that I actually use every day. Also, I keep track of stuff that did work in the previous version, but not so much any more in the newer version of BP. The most irritating example of this: the keyboard Escape key is no longer working as Cancel button on several panels and forces me to do mouse-clicks instead. For me, this adds up to hundreds of mouse clicks most days. This is highly irritating as this did work nicely in our old version.
Since we migrated from BP 6.5 to BP 6.10 in dec 2022, my list of improvements is shorter than my list of things that were degraded...
I do my BP voting every week and launch new idea's whenever I see an opportunity for BP to improve things. I launched over 60 idea's to date but have yet to see the first implemented in spite of some of them getting the votes I felt they needed. I'm not happy about these stats, but I still I launch new ones; one earlier today in fact.

Another thing:
A while back I proposed that all new idea's would be mirrored here in the Community automatically to make them more visible for all visitors - just the way you did here. Unfortunately, this idea was not approved - although this would be a prime business-case for a simple robotic process. Also improvement suggestions to the Ideation pages themselves are blocked by what I've understood to be a sub-optimal choice of supplier, tech, or product (my words). The Ideation pages could be greatly improved upon if the technology wasn't locked in some manner.
On voting:
It would be interesting to see how many unique persons visit the Community on a daily or weekly basis as opposed to how many are involved in voting. The process of improving BP as a product via the Ideation pages is at least partially based on getting the votes. No visitors, no votes...

Paul JHM van Doorn - I second these absolutely spot-on, constructive feedback, these Ideas and their timely review/implementation could potentially lead to a much Improved way forward of experiencing things on the tool n outside. Your Idea to include and mirror these entries automatically in the community threads to create more visibility and increased voting audience definitely sounds the right way of doing this. Thanks again for penning down your spot-on thoughts on this.
