Last month at Blue Prism World Virtual we hosted three virtual 24H Challenges for global teams to work together and design the best process possible using Blue Prism.
The Challenges were saw a total of 28 teams and 120 registered participants. Open to both our customers and partners, this year we had the pleasure of offering some of our latest releases as well as consolidated products in our Challenges, including Interact, Decision and Desktop.
During the Challenges, teams had access to the Blue Prism environment for a total 24 hours over a week to submit their solution.
To get an overview on this year's BPW Challenges and the main comments or difficulties the teams faced, just keep reading!
"We wanted to give challengers the opportunity to understand the potential of Interact. In the specifications, we focused on creating an advanced form with multiple field types – as well as the more recently added feature to update prior submissions using the Interact API" - Adam Perry
Task
In this Challenge, participants were tasked with learning the fundamentals of this tool to craft their own insurance claim form within Interact, capable of directly injecting data from a browser-based user interface into a Blue Prism work queue.
Difficulty level
Medium-low (3 to 6 hours of expected completion time)
What participants said
"We really enjoyed the team work and as I was new to Interact, this challenge gave me an opportunity to get started and explore Interact"
"We wanted to give the challengers access to one of our new products: Decision, and the opportunity to build a decision model with different variable types, subsequently call that model in an example process ." - Gary Bradshaw
Task
In this Challenge, participants had to make use of Blue Prism's powerful machine learning tool – Decision. They were tasked with learning the fundamentals of this tool to craft their risk determination model within
Decision, capable of providing a risk category and confidence rating in a Blue Prism process.
The model was for the purpose of interrogating loan applications.
Difficulty level
Medium-High (6 to 8 hours of expected completion time)
Winners
What participants said
"It was great to explore the Decision model, learning more about machine learning pre build models."
"I really enjoyed seeing all the teams bring the human in the loop aspect into their automations. I saw people use forms in such unique and interesting ways. I really liked all the solutions and their creativity." - Tony Chavez
Task
For this Challenge participants made use of the new Blue Prism Desktop to bring relevant information out of an Electronic Medical Record system. The objective is to bubble up information to nurses or doctors and allow them to select the best course of action easily. They were focusing on only one aspect of the field which was lab results.
Difficulty level
Advanced (12-18 hours of expected completion time)
