Is there any possible way to save excel file without launch?

i have an excel file that is downloaded and opened. here i have to save the excel elements or how to use surface automation in that opened excel file. actually am trying to spy with Win32 mode and Region mode, but it is throwing error "there was a problem in Spying". kindly give your valuable summary of how to access excel elements without launch.

One Approach is to Save the file locally and process the excel file by loading it into a collection. You may use Accessibility mode for saving the file. Can delete the file if required after processing.
