It's also recommended to limit the number of resources connecting to a server machine to about 100; if you have more resources you need more servers.   Hi, the broad guidance provided in various BluePrism tech materials suggest the 100:1 ratio for resources to app server. Seeking greater clarity around this ratio, i.e. - what metrics is it based on? - confirm that "resources" includes both runtime resources and interactive clients - what metrics should we be tracking that would provide us greater certainty wrt. underlying system resource contention? e.g. at DB Server or App Server - what are the likely failure modes that will come from running at a higher contention ratio? - can BP (or other clients) suggest an non-functional testing (NFT) approaches that would enable us to gain greater certainty around the expected behaviour of our deployed environment   Many thanks in advance

Hi Nathan the 100:1 ration is a guide rather than a guaranteed limit. Depending on the spec of the machine, at some point its ability to run the BPServer service will degrade if the load keeps increasing. 100:1 is the recommendation for the smooth running of a typical application server. With a more powerful machine, better bandwidth, less active resources/clients etc, probably the limit will be higher. It might be worth reaching out to your BP representative (account manager or delivery enablement manager) for a more detailed discussion.
