Runtime Resource within Citrix XenApp

Dear all, We need to integrate BP with some legacy applications that currently run within Citrix XenApp. These legacy applications cannot run on the runtime resource machines as clients because of limitations on their side. We are planning to use surface automation for automating them. However we have the following question: "Is it possible to install BP runtime resources and control room within Cintrx XenApp?" We were thinking that if it was possible to run the runtime resources withing XenApp, we could avoid the surface automation of the legacy applications. We could not find any instructions or past experinece of people in the BP portal or on the internet with such a solution. Is it feasible? With kind regards, NM

I would say that the answer to your question is no. To interface with the applications Blue Prism needs to be installed within the same desktop as the full client application, in an environment that meets all the Persistence and Consistency requirements outlined in our infastructure reference guides. XenApp is a human client application provisioning solution rather than a persistent/consistent VDI environment required for enterprise RPA. It is worth noting that some clients have used Citrix Desktops to provision their virtualised resourcepc desktops in accordance with our platform requirements.

Dear Dennis, Thanks for the reply, so would this work if we were to convince the client to install the client applications and the BluePrism runtime resourvce on XenDesktop? With kind regards, NM
