We're very excited to announce our Community member of the month for January: @Neeraj Kumar
Neeraj joined us from the very beginning in 2019 and he hit the ground running from the start! With over 50 contributions, he's been active in a wide variety of Community Programs. He's number one in our Community coins leaderboard and that's just some of his participation in gamification. Always willing to share his knowledge and help others, Neeraj has enrolled as a Mentor in our recently launched Mentoring program! He's also a member of our Development Volunteering Community as well as our Product Research and Champions programs.
His constant participation and Community achievements have granted him a spot as an MVP for 2022!
We can't thank Neeraj enough for all his work on the Blue Prism Community. It was about time that he was selected as our Community member of the month and we'd love to share with you his answers to our questions!
Tell us a bit about yourself and how did you start in RPA / Blue Prism?
"I live in a small town near India's Capital New Delhi. I completed my engineering in electronics and communication. Currently I am working as an RPA Technical architect in Ericsson, India. I started working as a Blue Prism Developer in early 2017. I started on version 5 and then eventually moved on to 6.3,6.4 and 6.9. I was promoted as a technical architect in early 2019 and since then I have been fulfilling this role."
Most interesting automation using Blue Prism? / Best tip you have learnt for Blue Prism?
"One of the most interesting and my favorite automation is when I designed and built a multi bot on a Citrix thin client-based application. I have learnt a lot of things while building this automation. This was the first multi bot which I built along with my development team. Almost all automation objects were built using Surface Automation Technique. There was a strict timeline regarding SLA and we had to process large data on excel as well (for this we invoked python script). Automation demands upload/download of data from two other citrix based applications.
Adapting to unpredictable behavior on legacy applications turned out to be a great challenge while working on this automation."
Why do you come to the Community everyday?
"I always come to the Community first before starting my usual office tasks. My prime motive to come to the Community is to gain knowledge and, in this process, I also share my experiences with the Community. I learned a lot of tips/tricks, and learned new features by enhancing my knowledge on new topics/tools. There are a number of good engaging exercises/events being introduced in the Community- and I love to participate in them."
Tell us a fun fact about yourself
"I have this habit since childhood that whenever I see a vehicle number – I start adding up the digits to see if the sum will turn out to be an odd number or an even number 😊"
What automation have you been involved with that you’re most proud of?
"I am proud of almost all the automations I have been involved in. There are lots of automation where we integrate python with RPA or other internal tools with RPA but my favorite is the one when we integrate RPA Blue Prism with ITSM via web services. Earlier the use case was built on GUI rendering and with ever increasing volume, we have to deploy more Resources to cater the request. Web services integration decreases the time of automation to a large extent."
What do you love the most about Community?
"Community has grown rapidly in the last few years. People from all over the world are participating in huge numbers. I am glad to see that the Community footprint is growing. Whenever I am in need of an answer on any topic on Blue Prism, I always get the answer and I end up learning more things."
Tell us about a current hobby:
"For the past few years my hobby has been to follow the Current affairs (International relation is my favorite topic), to read and discuss geopolitical situations with like-minded people. I try never to miss the editorial section."
What would you most like to automate that you haven't been able to yet?
"I did not get an opportunity to work on SAP and mainframe applications so far because these areas/tools are not in my current organization. I would love to work on these whenever I get a chance."
