Mutliple Instances of iexplore.exe in Task Manager

Hi All,

We've recently upgraded to Windows 10, using IE version 11. and even though we've used the TABPROCGROWTH setting within Regedit, there are still 2 processes within the Task Manager screen.

How can we amend this back to 1 process? We will eventually go to Edge etc... but for the business as usual whilst we move to Edge we need to stay on IE for now.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Tom

Hi Tom,

We offer the following guidance in our Knowledge Base about IE's multiple instances of a Windows process and how to work around this in Blue Prism:

KB: "Why are there two instances of Internet Explorer's process running when only one window is showing?"

KB: "How do I identify a specific Internet Explorer system process to attach to?"

KB: "How do I work with multiple Internet Explorer processes?"

Hopefully this information is useful for now, but we would recommend discontinuing use of Internet Explorer before Microsoft's end-of-life date for it on August 21 of this year. Here are some potentially useful resources for your team when migrating from Internet Explorer to a different browser for automation purposes:
