I think it would be useful to be able to validate the schema of work queue items before they get added to a work queue. My thought is an XSD validation string or or some such mechanism could be associated with the work queue. The Add to Queue action could use it to validate that the data being added to the queue is valid before proceeding. The advantage of this is that processes that use the work queue would be able to safely assume that any data entered into the queue is valid. Further, it would mean that exceptions due to invalid data would happen at the time that data is being added to the queue, as opposed to when the data is being read from the queue. On a practical level, this may not happen often since users should be testing what data is being added into queues before going live with it. However, this would still be a gain because it would be one less thing that you have to think about while building processes.

When hovering a Stage, some of its properties are shown. At the moment they are: Name, Expression Description. Quite a strange order as the Stage properties window shows Name, Description and then Expression. Can the order of the hover information be the same as in the properties?

Adding new environment variable is possible by importing a new release but if we want to update the values of environment variable then we have to do it manually. Right now it can't be done by importing the release. Please ignore if its already handled in new version of BP.

In the CSV export generated from the control room for the queue content, we don't get any column that tells the state of the item and whether the item is in the Pending / Exception / Completed state. Of course, there are some workarounds to segregate items as per the state but the blue prism should be having a specific column for this in the CSV export. Also, this will give businesses a better clarity on queue content to understand Pending / Exception / Completed items and eliminate manual efforts in data manipulation.

Ability to see if any BP clients are connected to BP server, if they have any objects opened etc. We can already see if there is any activity from resource PCs, but there is no information about normal BP clients. For example, if we need to reboot BP server, we need to know if anybody is currently working on something, has opened objects etc As I would assume a developer working on a process would probably loose some work during a server reboot. A system workaround I had to use is relatively simple, but internal BP functionality with more detailed information would be very useful. "netstat -a 1 | findstr 8199" - simple enough to see if anything is connected to the 8199 port

Hello, As most of the Organizations are moving towards latest versions of Office tools for security reasons and still the Mapiex VBO is not supporting for 64 bit Outlook. We have around 60 process are in production & our client wants to upgrade the office to the latest version. In this case we need to modify all the process in production to the MS Outlook Email VBO while reading/Sending Mails. Please suggest is there any new versions of Mapiex is going to release near future or we will modify the all existing process using MS Outlook Email VBO. Regards, Mahesh Reddy L

Hello, It would be really useful if we could find references to specific Web API actions, I know we can view references to the Web API itself but we don't have a similar view for a individual action. At the moment, if the API itself has a breaking change and requires some re-work of the Web API in Blue Prism, you have to manually go through each reference to that Web API to see what is impacted by the change.

It seems machines (runtime resources & workplaces) are always identified by their host names, regardless of system settings. In our case our settings were: register using short names, communicate using FQDN However, the registration considered short names and FQDN and caused issues after DNS name change that made manual DB updates necessary. The machines were verified based on their short names in BPAResource and Blue Prism crashed because of FQDN mismatch. The only reason to chose 'register using short names' is to avoid long FQDN names in Control. Therefore: 1. add settings for short/FQDN in Control that is independent on communication and registration 2. always register and evaluate FQDN and never short names only

After fetching credential values from credential manager, a developer can easily view the password by using simple calculate stage.
We are giving access to developers to utilize them for their automation process design. If a developer really want to view the password, he/she can easily view it with this loophole. BP tool should prevent casting from password-type data items to text-type data items. Thanks, Nagarjuna A

There should be a checkbox and in the App Modeller where you can hold the currently selected attributes. Example: Once you have decided the best attributes to describe elements for a given application, normally you would then just use those same attributes for a lot of elements that get modelled for that application. This would speed up Dev time when creating objects. It would also mean that Devs would spend longer finding the best attributes to define elements for a given app as they can just use the same attributes for all. Another possibility is if you can click on an element and then use a 'Format Painter' to then select all the same attributes on other elements. This could be an even better solution as then you can have a preferred set of attributes for the different spying modes.

Well written use case works as an invaluable guidebook to gain learning experience. For a student, citizen developer, or a beginner in the RPA field, they are always looking for a guide or use cases that can help them in gaining RPA experience that can help them in a new job or improve there skills.
For RPA professional or CoE, they would probably like to know how different industries, departments are leveraging automation, how the BP platform is helping organizations scale.
Can we build a repository of use cases that can help anyone in the automation community ?

As of Blue Prism Hub 4.6.0, having multiple users with the same email is not supported and is explicitly prevented by Blue Prism Hub with an error being thrown. There are valid circumstances under which multiple user accounts may have the same email, for example, a user having one account for non-admin access, and one for admin access. We do this today with the Blue Prism Application itself without issue, but are unable to integrate Hub, Auth server, and thus API into this approach due to this limitation preventing use of different accounts with the same email. In addition, Active Directory does not treat the mail attribute as unique or a primary identifier, so multiple users can have the same email without issue. If this is merely an arbitrary limitation the idea would be that the check is removed or configurable. If Blue Prism uses it determine uniqueness or for lookup, the idea would then be to use something else that should be truly unique, such as the username.

As we all see while using any Exception stage we can mark "What type of Exception it is" and "What this Exception says\details" . It will be great if we also can include another field there saying "Exception Resolution Steps" --> Which are simple steps which a developer will add in order to tell what needs to be done when this exception occurs. Example - A System Exception with detail saying "Restart this application when this exception occurs" this will be great idea as it can get logged into the database\queues also . Further it can be used by control room Teams to better support a particular project or can be a helpful hand if a new developer joining the team looks at that project or object exception -->He\She exactly knows now what is needed to be done !

Hello There, We are following federated operating model for RPA where operation team owned the shared BOT BAU. We are scheduling BOTs from 4:30 AM to 11:00 PM and team got the work from access to monitor the BOTs. We have faced some application related upgrades and adhoc pop ups due to BOT terminated. We have closed all the active windows and restart the VM to keeps BOTs back on track. I would like to suggest here if we have live snapshot of runtime machines in the control room similar to how we access through VNC or RDP. it will be very help full specifically this work from situation. It would be great to have a log of all the changes in the environment variables, the log should be able to track the values (previous and new), who changed the variables, and when they were changed. These would help tremendously in debugging problems causes when a variable is change by mistake. Additional functionality would be to add the option to restore a previous value or to alert somebody when a value in a specific variable is changed (Send email, SMS, etc).

Hi Team, I would like to add enhancement for Blue Prism. Right now, if any user going to perform edit status, view log, view all attempts or extract queue reports - but by mistake or due to some choppy network clicked on "Delete Worked Case from Selection" then Blue prism will delete that item. Due to this - We will loss transaction item information or we won't know which item we needed to retry. But I would like to suggest Blue Prism should ask one time confirmation before delete. -With Best Regards, Malak Dudhia Sr. RPA Consultant Wonderbotz LLC

Currently, copy/pasting is not supported between processes and objects. I believe this is because objects can contain things that processes cannot have, and vice versa. Personally, I find that many objects and processes end up using the same elements (I have a lot of middle-tier objects). The situation I typically come across where I need to copy/paste pages between processes and objects is when I need to refactor parts of a process into a middle-tier object. I've found a workaround to being able to cut/paste between processes and objects, namely that I paste the XML into a text editor, and then alter the first line of the XML, copy it again and afterwards I am able to cut/paste as desired. So, if I'm going from a page in a process to a page in an object, I would alter this line in the XML:
<process name="__selection__Baxter" > to:
<process name="__selection__Baxter" type="object" > after which, I am able to paste it into the object just fine. One might ask why I simply don't select all the elements and cut/paste those instead; the answer is, it is more convenient to just cut/paste a whole page. Also, in my specific case, cut/pasting all the elements results in extreme slowness, where cutting and pasting a page does not. Thus, to improve the UI, I would suggest allowing copy/paste of pages between processes and objects, using the same behavior as copying/pasting all the elements would: trim any stages that are invalid and leave the rest.
